About The Club

Lunar Owners Club - Lunartics?

It is my pleasure and privilege as the Clubs’ Chairman to introduce you to some of the benefits of membership.

The club was formed in 1976 by caravanners who had in common the ownership of the then, fairly recently developed Lunar Marque and who were looking for a club which gave them a more friendly and less regulated type of caravanning and yet which was properly organised and managed. The Club very quickly became countrywide and though still covering most of the British Isles, has never become large and unwieldly.

We rally throughout the year at venues as far spread as we can and usually have one Continental rally each year. The year is normally planned well in advance so that members can arrange their leisure activities early in the year. The details are published in our Club handbook, of which we are justifiably proud and which is issued to all members and updated from time to time as changes and improvements develop!

Other benefits include our long running special relationship with the manufacturers, which is the envy of other Clubs and a Constitution which defines the efficient running of the Club, without restricting in any way our enjoyment of being Lunar Caravan Owners. That enjoyment is what it is all about! Let’s face it, we all spend a lot of money on our chosen hobby and want the best out of it:

To enjoy our leisure time.

To enjoy visiting many parts of this country and abroad.

To enjoy the company of friends and

To enjoy the anticipation of what the next rally may have in store!

The management of the Club is in the hands of willing volunteers who all do their bit in different ways, but to me, one of the most important jobs in the Club is that of the Rally Secretary who has the responsibility of co-ordinating the search for venues with the availability of marshals to run rallies at times and in places that suit a cross section of the membership.

This may seem to be stating the obvious, but without it, we have nowhere to go and therefore no means of enjoying our caravanning. Though probably not unique, another much valued aspect of the Club is our excellent bi-monthly Newsletter, whose able and enthusiastic editor is delighted to publish your plaudits, criticisms, suggestions, rally reports and advertisements and also any views you may have (even if he doesn’t agree with you!)

It is a happy and very friendly Club and we truly believe it to be one of the best.

Why not join us?
